Family Portrait

A family is very special and important to me and something that can never be taken for granted. A part of my life would be lost without my family. Without my family by my side, I would not be able to live my life. In this world of doubt, insecurity, and fear, my family is always there for me, holding their arms open to me with love. When the whole world doubts you, the only people willing to be by your side and believe you is your family.

Program Music

This activity is quite challenging to make as I had to pick which part of the music I should use and what type of action I should do. This activity is fun though as it sparks your creativity.

Rococo art

Rococo's art is a style that is simple and bright yet elegant and sophisticating. In this project I will be restyling a vase to fit "Rococo" style art.

I do not know how to decorate or restyle the vase that I am doing hence I will be doing it digitally as that is what I am at least confident at.

How I did it

In this video I explain as how I turned reality into a painting and recolored it to fit rococo style art.

The result

Before

After

As you can see in this digital artwork I did not simply just brighten the image in order to make it rococo style instead I turned it into a painting-like image and made it into a brighter image by getting rid of the "complex" colors as that is what rococo art style is about; clean and bright, simple and elegant.

British accent journal

Understanding and speaking British accent is by no means an easy task, but it can be fun in the process.
My British accent is far from perfect but it should be alright - at least in my standards as so.

Your turn drills

Paragraph reading

Realization

What I have realized in this assignment is that learning British accent is not at all easy, I thought at first that it was quick and simple as I just had to speak in a manner that is different from what I usually do, like in movies, however to much my surprise that this is not an easy task and you have to keep your fluentness and be careful not to stutter. My British accent is far from perfect but I have learned a lot and have applied what I have learned.

Day Off

The Four Painting Modes of Renaissance

Sfumato

It is a technique of using colors in a way to blur the clear hard lines and create a smooth painting.

What I did over here is overlap the red color with orange in order to smoothen the red lines and to

deliver a smooth texture.

Unione

It emphasizes the smooth transformation of colors without leaving a trace of hard lines.

What I did in this painting is lightly apply the color blue over the center, although it got a bit dirty as

the blue oil pastel I had was used frequently.

Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro is all about lights and shadows. It is the representation of light and dark parts.

What I did in this painting is darken the outer parts and made the inner area white in order to create a

contrast between dark and light as that is what this technique is all about.

Cangiante

Cangiante is all about replacing colors with another color.

What I did in this painting is overlap the brown with orange in order to produce a mixed effect as

cangiante is all about replacing colors with another color

Planting rice by Fernando Armolso

"Planting Rice" is a painting by Fernando Armolso. The painter Fernando Amorsolo was a presiding figure in the visual arts of the Philippines during the years before the Second World War and into the post-war period. His body of work is characterized by scenes of the Filipino countryside, richly composed and harmoniously colored, with bright sunlight and populated by beautiful, happy people: it is an art of beauty, fulfillment, peace and prosperity, which perhaps explains its undying popularity in the Philippines to this day.

The painting reveals the knowledge of the artist as he etched the canvas with the presence of his passion. This shows Armolso's love for the Filipinos. If you look closely at the painting carefully you will notice the Filipino's unity or their bayanihan. Bayanihan is the spirit of civic unity and cooperation among the Filipinos. Bayanihan is derived from the word Bayan, which means community or country. Bayanihan means literally "being one with the community". Bayanihan culture is derived from the meaning: "being helpful in the community, being one of the people who are working together to achieve one goal.

Looking at this painting, I see glimpses of the hard work that the people used to do. From planting rice to milling them. Nowadays it is a a lot more easier to farm rice because of modern machines, that's why it makes me grateful to be born on a timeline that has the convenience of technology which unfortunately our ancestors did not have.

Amorsolo’s forte was the backlighting technique and the Filipino tradition themes. In this painting, the backlighting technique manifested wherein figures are outlined against a characteristic glow, and intense light on one part of the canvas highlights nearby details. Sunlight is a prevailing element in Amorsolo’s works. Brush strokes were smooth which emphasizes the feel intended by the artist.

It was an ideal picture of provincial life like most of his paintings. The particular genre that was used is realism. He painted the details as to how it might look like in real life. However, faces of the farmers were not detailed because their Buri hats covered them. Supposedly the sun was on its peak in that picture.

Fernando Cuerto Amorsolo is the very first painter to be given the recognition as the country’s national artist. His work titled “Rice Planting” which was made in 1922 was one of his most famous works. This was when the Philippines was under the American colonial rule and it is impressive that Amorsolo consistently painted pictures reflecting the true Filipino soul despite the colonization.

Mosaic art: How to make crepe paper mosaics

Mosaic, is the decoration of a surface with designs made up of closely set, usually variously coloured, small pieces of material such as stone, mineral, glass, tile, or shell. In the ancient times, mosaics first were made of uncut pebbles of uniform size. It was the Greeks however, who elevated the pebble mosaic to an art of great refinement, also invented the tessera technique. The tessera technique uses special, cube-shaped tiles called tesserae that were created specifically to make mosaics.

How to make crepe paper mosaics:

1 Prepare materials

Prepare the following materials:

Colored crepe paper

A printout of your design

Small bowls for each color

Glue

Pair of scissors

2 Cut the crepe paper into long thin strips

Make sure that its thin and long otherwise the roll would be too big and cut it not too small either

4 Roll them into tiny balls and crumple them

Roll them until they are small enough.

5 Prepare your design

Paste your printed out design onto an illustration board in order for it to not get too sloppy when placing glue and ruining the artwork

6 Paste the crumpled crepe paper rolls into your design.

Make sure to not place too much glue as it can tear through paper and mess up the colors and make sure the color matches the design.

7 Dry it completely

Dry it completely in front of a fan to make sure that all of the crumpled rolls are placed firmly to make it not slip later.

8 Enjoy your artwork
